For 2021/2022, Holy Cross Powder Hounds members will be eligible for a free avalanche training class. Each membership will include one avalanche training class, and each additional person will be $40. Guests are invited to become part of the club. Renewing your 2021/2022 membership will provide each member with avalanche training and admittance to SledFest 2021.
Be sure to bring your avalanche gear for discussion. You will need a beacon for our outside portion of the class.
Class Details:
New updated class and format for 2021 featuring current avalanche accident statistics, accident reviews, gear, route finding, terrain and consequence analysis, rescue techniques, and the most dangerous avalanche and terrain problems. Learn the techniques used before and during a ride that make a huge difference in the day’s outcome. This interactive class will progress to hands-on training involving gear and advanced transceiver skills. Students should bring their avalanche gear to class. If you have been to my class before, you’ll learn something new in this one.
