About Us

Holy Cross Powder Hounds
is a volunteer snowmobile club located in the Vail Valley of Colorado.  Our club exists to help preserve riding areas for the great sport of snowmobiling, as well as, increasing riding, backcountry awareness and providing activities and special events for club members.  Our club operates on funds that are raised from membership fees as well as assistance from the CSA (Colorado Snowmobile Association).  We are a grooming snowmobile club and maintain an area of the White River National Forest to the North of Vail through Wolcott.

Becoming a member of the club helps us achieve these goals and provides an incredible network of sled heads while learning more about the areas we ride in.  We'd love to have you join us!  Visit or membership page to view more details on club benefits and membership options.

About Our Name

Mount of the Holy Cross is a 14,000 foot mountain of the Rocky Mountains in the state of Colorado. It was named for the distinctive cross-
shaped snowfield on the northeast face. The mountain was formerly a U.S. National Monument but lost that status in 1950 when the cross formation had lost much of its distinction due to erosion and rock slides.
