The Powder Hounds are hosting Mike Duffy with Avalanche1.com for another avalanche training session. This course is updated from last year and will have an emphasis on beacon training. The club will provide one free class session with each active family membership. Additional family members will cost $35 each.

Be sure to bring your avalanche gear for discussion. You will need a beacon for our outside portion of the class. Additional beacons are available for the class if needed.

Class Details:
New updated class and format for 2022 featuring current avalanche accident statistics, accident reviews, gear, route finding, terrain and consequence analysis, rescue techniques, and the most dangerous avalanche and terrain problems. Learn the techniques used before and during a ride that make a huge difference in the day’s outcome. This interactive class will progress to hands-on training involving gear and advanced transceiver skills. Students should bring their avalanche gear to class.
